Yoga in the Park led by Jennifer Younk
Jennifer Younk of balance yoga lounge will be leading Yoga in the Park at Gray’s Lake tomorrow morning at 9AM. The normally scheduled 9AM mixed level class held at the lounge is cancelled so that all can attend FREE yoga at Gray’s Lake! Class is held on the north shore of the lake where parking is available. Bring a towel to place under your mat, a bottle of water and layer on the sunscreen. There were approximately 200 enthusiastic yogis (of all ages and levels of ability) in attendance last week…let’s show Des Moines what a dedicated yoga community we have in Ankeny- see you there!

Essential yoga class, Feb 8, 7-8pm is cancelled due to snowfall, cold temps, and slippery roads. Stay safe and warm at home and we hope to see you in class later in the week!
Don’t forget the arm balances and inversions workshop this Wednesday evening at 7pm.
Jan 25 evening class cancelled
Here we go again…due to high winds and steady snow- the 7pm essential yoga class tonight is CANCELLED.
Chakra wrkshp WILL be held.
The streets are icy, and school activities are cancelled… Whether this is your first visit or you stop by every
week for class at the lounge; if you are ready to re-charge your energy battery, join us at 7pm for the chakra balancing workshop. Let dad watch the kids, drive carefully and bring your mat- and perhaps your best friend!
$15 covers the workshop and $5 covers the cost of the essntial oils used in the worshop for walk-ins. If you have a multiple attendance pass or unlimited attendance contract, this event will be deducted as one attendance. Please bring an additional $5 to cover the cost of the oils.

Rather than risk life and limb for the meditation workshop at the lounge this evening, we challenge you to retreat to a quiet place within your home and spend some time in contemplation. Snowbound at home takes us outside of our normal weekly routine and can be just the jolt we need to rediscover ”being.”
Take your time digging out the driveway tomorrow morning and we hope to see you Thursday afternoon at 4:45pm for mixed level class at the lounge!
Embracing winter…Tues classes cancelled
Stay safe and warm…yoga classes at the lounge cancelled due to the transformation of Ankeny into a Winter Wonderland for Christmas! If the weather improves by Wednesday evening be sure to join us for a holiday meditation workshop at 7pm.
Tuesday December 8th power yoga and gentle yoga flow classes cancelled due to unsafe weather conditions.
No classes Wed or Thurs of Thanksgiving Week
The Wednesday weekly workshop (7-8:15pm) and all three Thursday classes will not meet this week in observance of Thanksgiving. And rather than fight the crowds on Friday and buy more stuff…prepare for a sress free holiday season with Vinyasa flow class at 9:30 Friday morning!

Yoga for Ankeny’s All City Play Day
The kick off for Ankeny’s Summerfest was well attended tonight by hundreds of kids and adults! Skies were sunny and moments later the raindrops fell. balance yoga lounge’s instructor, Mary Lasky led an outdoor class that was enjoyed by young and old. If you missed the fun this year, you can join us next year!
