Sandy is a pharmacist and owner of balance yoga lounge and principal instructor at balanced breath school of yoga. In addition to leading group yoga classes, she is available for private yoga and yoga therapy work. Sandy is certified in somatic movement, trauma yoga, and leads meditation classes in Central Iowa.

  • Restorative Yoga
  • Restorative yoga offers an opportunity for the body to remember stillness. With the physical body supported using blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets the mind slows and we reconnect with our true nature of relaxation. The practice often includes gentle breath work, aromatherapy, sound vibration, guided imagery, mudra, or yoga nidra.  

  • Mixed Level Hatha Yoga
  • A moderately paced class appropriate for beginner through intermediate students. Our mixed level class incorporates fluid movement as well as attention to alignment and breathing. Modifications permit each student to customize the practice according to their needs.

  • The Overcome Anxiety Clinic
  • When anxiety becomes chronic, the protective mechanisms of the nervous system get stuck! This clinic targets the roots of anxiety with tools for self-regulation. Plan to attend all four sessions to build a foundation for changing habitual patterns of response to stress and anxiety (10/3, 10/17, 10/31, 11/14) 7-9:30pm. All classes led by Sandy Eimers, pharmacist and certified trauma yoga therapist. 
    Registration includes a 75 page printed manual with self-regulation tools, physical postures, breathing exercises, mudra, deep relaxation techniques, affirmations, tools for meditation, nutritional tips, insomnia busters and an introduction to yoga.
    Preregistration required. Maximum ten participants. No yoga experience required. 

  • Somatic Rēsĕt
  • We can’t strengthen muscles we don’t have control over… somatic movement is inner guided and embraces a small range of motion, using the deepest muscles of the body to move, feel, and reset the resting length of muscles. All levels of physical ability can overcome muscular reactions to stress through somatic movement.

  • Mudra & Mantra for Awakening Subtle Energy
  • Mudra & Mantra for Awakening Subtle Energy in Your Yoga Practice. October 10 & 24 (7-9PM) 4 classroom hours of study. $85 
    Each area of the hand has a reflex reaction in a specific part of the brain. A mudra locks and guides energy flow and reflexes to the brain. Learn the history/psychology and application of mudra to enhance your yoga practice. "Mudras for Healing and Transformation" by Joseph Le Page included in registration fee (value $30). 6 Yoga Alliance CE credits available to yoga instructors. 
    Mantra embodies the Divine power of words. Experience the power of sound as vibration vs sound as waves, which are sometimes organized and expressed as music.
    When mudra and mantra are practiced simultaneously, the subtle body vibrates with energy! Mudra and mantra can be utilized as a stand-alone practice, OR, added to your asana and pranayama practice to activate all levels of being.
    Please pre-register by Sept 20 to ensure the text is available to all participants at the first class. Minimum: 6 participants required for workshop to be held.
