Essential Hatha Yoga

Annette Vance RYT

Annette has three passions, family, sharing yoga, and the visual arts. She taught public school art in Minnesota and Iowa for 30 years, most of that time in Ankeny. In 2000, one of her four sons introduced her to yoga and in 2014 she completed 200 hr certification at balanced breath school of yoga. She is certified in trauma sensitive yoga through Sundara Yoga Therapy (TIYT) and also teaches at the Ankeny Art Center, Ankeny adult education and the YMCA Ankeny.

Jennifer Younk RYT

Jennifer completed the first of many yoga certifications in 2006. She enjoys empowering her students through self-discovery, and has unearthed many ‘pearls of wisdom’ from her teachers, as well has her students. Jennifer is trauma sensitive yoga certified through Sundara Yoga Therapy (TIYT), continues to train in therapeutic yoga, and is a healing touch practitioner apprentice.

Angela Ossian RYT

Angela earned her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification from balanced breath school of yoga in 2012 and is the founder and former publisher of YogaIowa magazine. She enjoys discovering practices, understandings, and techniques from master teachers while attending yoga conferences and festivals. She strives to bring a sense of fun, freedom and kindness to her classes, and hopes to impart nuggets of yogic wisdom along the way.

Erin Luense RYT

Erin began her inner journey with vipassana meditation. She fostered a home practice and earned her RYT from balance yoga lounge and completed trauma sensitive yoga certification with Sundara Yoga Therapy (TIYT). Compassion and curiosity guide her on and off the mat and she enjoys supporting others on their yoga journey.

Sandy Eimers ERYT500 C-IAYT

Sandy is a pharmacist and owner of balance yoga lounge and principal instructor at balanced breath school of yoga. In addition to leading group yoga classes, she is available for private yoga and yoga therapy sessions. She is certified in somatic movement, trauma yoga, and is a registered yoga therapist through the IAYT. She is also a senior faculty member at Sundara Yoga Therapy (Austin, TX); facilitating  trauma-informed training's held throughout North America.
Practice basic yoga postures, the art and benefits of breathing, gentle stretching and basic flowing movement. Modification of poses and use of props are encouraged to enhance alignment and energy within asana. Beginners welcome!
