Patty Van Meter
Instructor
Patty Van Meter’s yoga practice began in 1995 after experiencing Yoga Nidra in a college psychology class.
She then practiced from books that helped build her daily practice. Six years into her personal practice, Patty was drawn to teaching various yoga classes at Iowa State University, which has since expanded to include fitness clubs and yoga studios in Des Moines, Ankeny, Ames and Huxley. Patty has led classes for kids and adults, and in various styles including gentle, vinyasa, power and prenatal. She also volunteers time teaching chair yoga classes at a skilled nursing facility.
Patty completed her RYT200 with KCFitness in Kansas City in addition to being certified in YogaFit® levels I, II and III. She enjoys attending workshops covering any style of yoga and recently attended Doug Swenson’s study of Power Flow. In addition to her yoga studies she holds a BS in biology from Iowa State University. Patty is available for private yoga lessons and interested working with students who desire therapeutic yoga practice.
Through yoga Patty has found passion and joy as well as a genuine love for teaching!
