Making the transition to a holistic household
Synthetic products created with chemical ingredients hazardous to our health are unsuspectedly resting in our home’s kitchen, bath, garden and laundry cupboard shelves. Ingredients such as propylene glycol, chlorene bleach, SLS/SLES (sodium lauryl sulfate) and others have shown possible skin irritations, eye irritations/deformities, protein denaturing, hormone imbalance and cancer causing reactions through scientific research. Learning to read labels of all the products we use as consumers is invaluable to our health. Begin building knowledge to create a safer environment for your home & family. It will ensure you are providing healthy options. A great way to start is by selecting one product you are currently using which includes the unhealthy ingredient and finding an alternative/safe replacement.
Here is just one example of a favorite replacement which includes a variety of uses; Young Living “Thieves” product line. I purchased the Thieves concentrated cleanser last June(’08) and have found the following uses: dish washing (sink or machine), laundry detergent, stain/pet odor remover, bathroom cleaner (sinks, showers, countertops, stools…), vacuum (1 drop on air filter - refresh/clean bacteria & germs), clean areas when flue/cold season is hot and heavy - really cuts the germs and improves immune system, dilute with distilled water and place into spray bottle to refresh cushions, pillows, mattress and even destroy mites/bed bugs!
