Bread Baking as Meditation
Bread baking and meditation flow together in our newest workshop…
Baking not only demands concentration and presence but also offers a bit of sanctuary. The process of making bread creates a shift in awareness, becoming absorbed- not thinking of yesterday or tomorrow- but giving your attention to the bread, focusing on the dough in your hands.
Kim Rushing, owner of Noodle Zoo, has invited us to experience the Zen of her kitchen. The workshop will begin with hands on mixing and kneading of dough and then proceed to relaxing yoga stretches and meditation while our loaves rise. After baking, we will break bread together and spend time reflecting on the transformative process of creating a loaf of bread and the possible parallels to life itself.
$40 per person. All materials and recipes provided (beverages and wine by the glass will be available for an additional fee). Meet at Noodle Zoo, 7pm, April 20, wear comfortable clothes and bring your mat. Open to all- members of balance yoga and the general public. Reservations required, limited to 10 participants.

Hi -
I recently submitted a request for myself and Dr. JoAnn to attend this event April 20th. I will not be able to attend due to a prior commitment that I had forgotten. I will verify with Dr. JoAnn her plans and get back as soon as possible.
Hope you will plan another evening.
Kathy
